Todd Defren made my morning today when I started reading his latest post. Unfortunately, he has just had to have an operation on his shoulder so he is recuperating at home and one of his friends sent him a video to cheer him up. Now I am a big Star Wars fan, so the video below made me laugh until I cried - if you fancy cheering up check it out. I hope you get well soon Todd. ...

I have just read an amusing story about a public relations officer from 02 calling a journalist of a tech publication. It's a fantastic read and a perfect example of how not to discuss your approach to a journalist with the rest of your colleagues. In this case its because the journalist had been listening to him talking about it for the last five minutes - ouch. I feel his pain - if you have a similar story, feel free to share it.... I have just read an interesting post on Tech Digest about a new start-up company called YouNoodle (I am loving the name) which claims it can predict the business successes of the future using artificial intelligence. The company has been created by two well educated Oxford graduates based in Silicon Valley The owners have pitched their company in a recent issue of the New York Times with founder Bob Goodson claiming: "YouNoodle.com, might give an edge to venture capitalists and other investors trying to decide whether to sink money into an early-stage company. “We don’t ...

Stuart Bruce has tagged me with the 'Eight things you don't know about me' meme. So here goes: I came sixth in the British DJ Championships at Earls Court in London and lost in the finals to the overall winner who went on to play across Ibiza in the following summer. My favourite food is Pizza (New York Pizza is the best) and I hate eggs. I was part of a jury which had to decide on a case which included a well organised drug smuggling ring. The jury also included the deputy editor of the Sunday Times and a well known author....

Here is a story that I found on AP's newswire today, which I found rather concerning but equally interesting. I have heard of magical feet before but never a magical leg. Two men attacked an 80-year-old, self-proclaimed holy man in southern India and chopped off his right leg, apparently believing it had magical powers, police said Thursday. Yanadi Kondaiah, who claimed that those who touched his leg would be cured of illness or have wishes granted, was hospitalised in serious condition after the attack Tuesday, said R. Ravindranath Reddy, a senior police officer. "We are looking ...

There was an amusing story kicking about on the news wires yesterday. Love him or loathe him, former F1 world champion Michael Shumacher is certainly a well known face - albeit quite a wide one too. Anyway, he decided to catch a cab in Bavaria after picking up a new dog - like you do - and asked the driver if he could drive as he was late for a flight back home. The cab driver, who couldn't believe his luck, then had to hold on for dear life as ...
